Your new company

This Federal Government Department is seeking an experienced APS6 or EL1 Legal Policy Officer for a labour hire contract until 30 September 2022.

Your new role

In this role, you will support policy and legislation changes related to the implementation of the Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC). The role will support the establishment of a new independent process to inform Government decisions on annual aged care funding increases through an expansion of the current Independent Hospital Pricing Authority.

What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience in interpreting comprehensive legislation and in writing plain English explanations. You will assist in the preparation of time-critical and sensitive documentation such as:

• drafting instructions for primary and/or subordinate legislation
• explanatory memoranda and statements
• analysis of responses to public consultation processes, and
• other associated documentation such as Ministerial Submissions, Briefs and Talking Points.

Previous experience and/or knowledge of the Aged Care Act 1997, National Health Reform Act 2011, and related Principles, would be highly regarded.
