Back in 1979 though this clock radio would have been a premium product. It uses a vacuum fluorescent display for the clock portion, a valve era technology that offers a premium over cheaper LED or LCD displays.
It is a child of the seventies, so of course has a flash of faux woodgrain to set off its handsome black and silver design.
