Chinese ginger jar lamps with gold etchings

Two classic Chinese ginger jar lamps. The ginger jars are in porcelain in a deep burgundy colour with fine gold etchings of peony roses, peacocks and other Asian themes. The ginger jars sit on classic wood black stands. The dimensions of the jars are H- 38 cm and D 30 cm at the widest point. They are both in excellent condition.The shades in cream French linen are styled to compliment the bases. One is undamaged but one has watermarks. The light fittings and harps are in fair condition.The overall height of the lamps, including the shades, is 76 cm with a width of 50 cm.

We used these stunning ginger jar lamps in our lounge room on side tables and later as bedside lamps. They are over 40 years old – not quite in the “vintage” category (50 years and older).
