“One size doesn’t fit all “, Vocal and pop music setup is quite different from orchestra music setup, vocals require dark, slow, sweet, warm, roundness tones that tube amps are more suitable, orchestral music requires bright, accuracy, fast, instant power without any delay, fine details that only solid state amps can produce.

The contemporary Hifi prices are far too overpriced. High price doesn’t equal high quality, better sound. The contemporary Hifi sound tone tends to be bright, transparent,clarity, clean, cold . Bright speakers +bright preamps+bright power amps sound is only good for orchestra music but terrible for vocals. But music tones can be dark, warm, roundness, sweet, full, and rich that you can normally find them in vintage Hifi that offers very good price to value, performance ratios.
Normally, a more powerful power amps produces much better sound and so is the price higher. an instant power delivery without 20 milisecond delaying peak power is the essential key for any good music, a good bass is produced by a very powerful amp and 12+inch woofers together, Good bass is an essential for a good Hifi system.
It is true that used Hifi can be break down, it like all the electronics goods , but vintage Japanese and McIntosh Hifi have the reputation of low maintenance and low breakdowns, all the Hifi systems can be repaired and are serviceable, Including the service bill, they can be used forever. You only need to find a capable technician .
